Early College Program Checklist

Clearwater, Seminole and Tarpon Springs campuses

1. Request and return to us an unofficial transcript from your current high school including 10th grade FCAT scores; if available.
2. Complete an SPC student application to receive a student ID number (free of charge).
3. Take the College Placement Test (CPT). Be sure to take the Pink card to the testing site and bring a photo ID. You may test at any of our campuses. Call for times of operation.

   College Course Placement based on qualifying test scores on ANY of the following tests. Scores that may be used for placement must be under two years old. SPC uses the highest scores from the Accuplacer, PERT, ACT, and SAT administered within the last two years.
   Dual Enrollment (DE) – Qualifying scores needed only in the subject area of chosen course Early College Program (ECP) – Qualifying scores needed in all areas Early Admissions (EA) – Qualifying scores needed in all areas
   CPT-ACCUPLACER (Administered prior to 9/19/2011)	Reading*	83+	*Reading and Sentence Skills scores permit entry into college courses that are reading/writing based such as Composition I and/or courses with the following prefixes: ENC, PSY, AMH, ECO, HUM, PHI, POS, SYG, SPC, etc.
   	Sentence Skills*	83+
   	Elementary Algebra	72+	This score permits entry into MAT 1033 Intermediate Algebra ONLY.
   	College Level Math	41-61	These scores permit entry into college courses that begin with the following prefixes: MAC, MGF, STA, MTG.
   		62+	See Math program director for course selection.
   CPT-PERT (Replaces Accuplacer effective 9/19/2011)	Reading subtest*	104+	*Reading and Writing scores permit entry into college courses that are reading/writing based such as Composition I and/or courses with the following prefixes: ENC, PSY, AMH, ECO, HUM, PHI, POS, SYG, SPC, etc.

   	Math subtest	113-122	This score permits entry into MAT 1033 Intermediate Algebra ONLY.
   		123-150	These scores permit entry into: MAC 1105, MGF 1106, MGF 1107, or STA 2023.
   		Accuplacer College Level Math test required for higher level placement (see above)
   SAT **	Critical Reading**	440+	**SAT or ACT scores may be used IN PLACE OF CPT scores.
   	Mathematics**	440+
   ACT **	English**	17+	SAT or ACT math scores permit entry into MAT 1033 Intermediate Algebra ONLY. Any math course beyond MAT 1033 requires an appropriate score on the Accuplacer College Level Math test (see above).
   	Reading**	18+
   	Mathematics**	19+
   FCAT	Reading	4 or 5	FCAT reading scores permit only ENC 1101
   	Math	5+	FCAT math scores permit only MAT 1033. Students who pass Algebra II with a "C" or higher may qualify for MAC 1105

4. Complete Applicant Data Form. Attach the CPT test(s) results and the unofficial transcript to the Applicant Data Form.
5. Return all information to Dr. Jeff Cesta, Director Early College Program - SPC Clearwater Campus. Mailed applications are sent to:
