Tribute Gifts
We deeply appreciate tribute gifts and our office will assist individuals and families who would like to direct this type of contribution to the college. Whenever this type of gift is established a letter will be sent to the family or person being honored, giving the names of all donors. Our online tribute gift form helps streamline this process. Types of tribute gifts include:

  • Memorial Gifts
A Memorial Gift is a wonderful way to honor a loved one.  Normally we place memorial gifts into our general scholarship fund.  Special accounts may be set up in the name of the deceased if requested for a one-term scholarship, usually $200 or more, or an endowed scholarship with a minimum one-time or collective contribution of $10,000.  You may want to honor your loved one with other gifts to the College.
  • Commemorative Gifts
A gift given to join a friend or loved one in celebrating a special event or achievement is a very thoughtful way of acknowledging your high regard and appreciation to them.  You may choose to designate your gift for a particular scholarship, campaign or  program.
  • Honorary/Appreciation Gifts
Thank someone who has made a difference or touched your life in a special way.  It could be a friend, professor, student, neighbor, family member or others.  Donate your gift in honor of this special someone by completing the Memorial and Commemorative Gift form and send or email it to us.

Professorships
The purpose of a professorship or teaching chair is to recognize and/or recruit outstanding faculty, providing a means for them to further contribute to the quality of instruction available to students at SPC.

These may be restricted to a specific field of study within an academic department or program or remain undesignated to allow the President of the college to award the chair where it is needed most.

To establish an endowed/distinguished faculty chair, a minimum gift commitment is required. It is our goal to promote awareness throughout the community that outstanding teaching is highly valued at SPC.
