Which option is right for me?

Placement Test Information

The SPC Placement Test is offered at each campus listed below. You may take the test at the campus nearest your home. To take the test, you should:

1.    Call the campus for the time the test is offered or check the hours listed here.

2.    Complete the SPC application and submit it to the Admission Office.

3.    Take practice tests for the CPT.

4.    Take the completed pink card and a valid photo ID (such as a driver’s license, student ID or other state ID) to the testing center.

Students must complete the application for admission prior to taking the Placement Test. Remember that parents must complete the residency statement. All testing is done in our testing lab on the computer and there are no time limits.

The following items are NOT allowed in the testing area: calculators, dictionaries, cell phones, pagers, food, drinks, hats.

College Course Placement
(effective 10/22/13)

Placement is based on qualifying test scores on ANY of the following tests. Scores used for course placement must be under two years old. SPC uses the highest scores from the Accuplacer, PERT, ACT and SAT administered within the last two years.

Dual Enrollment (DE) Qualifying scores needed only in the subject area of chosen course, however all subtests must be taken
Early College Program (ECP)
Qualifying scores needed in all areas
Early Admissions (EA)
Qualifying scores needed in all areas

*Reading and Writing scores permit entry into college courses that are reading/writing based such as Composition I and/or courses with the following prefixes: ENC, PSY, AMH, ECO, HUM, PHI, POS, SYG, SPC, etc.
