EXPERIENCE

2006 – Present Executive Officer, SPC Downtown and SPC Midtown, St. Petersburg College

Responsible for the operation of two rapidly growing SPC college sites.

1998 – 2006 Associate Provost, SPC Downtown Center, St. Petersburg College

Responsible for the development, promotion and growth of a satellite campus that currently serves more than 1,300 students. Provide the academic and student services leadership for the center. Represent the college on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors, College and University Relations Committee, Leadership St. Pete Planning Committee, Downtown Partnership and Williams Park Task Force.

2000- 2003 Associate Provost, University Partnership Center, St. Petersburg College

Provided academic leadership and assisted in the initiation and coordination of the partnership programs with universities across the State of Florida and beyond.

1997 – 1998 Employee Development Specialist, AEGON Insurance Group

Responsible for the successful development, implementation and coordination of the Advanced Financial Services Division (AFSD) staff and management development curricula. Duties included identifying the development and educational needs of the Division and working with management teams to generate/implement specific management training programs.

1990 -1996 Director of Management and Staff Development, St. Petersburg Junior College

Responsible for assessing needs and coordinating the implementation of training programs for management, faculty and career staff college-wide.

Established a Staff Development Resource Center with books, audio and video tapes for employee training and development.

Coordinated an annual trip for 40 -50 faculty to attend the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Conference, Austin, TX.

Coordinated programs/speakers for our annual Faculty In-Service Day

Guest speaker on Channel 10, Channel 22, and paragon Cable, promoting programs and opportunities at St. Petersburg Junior College.

ST. PETERSBURG COLLEGE LEADERSHIP – Special Projects

Chair, Interactive Student Orientation (ISO) Committee, 1999 – 2000. Responsible for providing leadership in the development of SPC’s first on-line student orientation program. This 30 minute interactive program introduces students to the college and provides information about the various programs and services available at our institution.

Total Quality Management Coordinator, 1992 – 1996. Responsible for writing curriculum and coordinating "Quality Process Training" for management, faculty career staff and student employees. This 24-hour training series covered the following topics: Quality Performance, Customer Service, Cultural Diversity, Individuals with Disabilities, Stress Management, Team Building, and Mission & Purpose.

Children and Divorce Program, 1992- 1996. In conjunction with the Sixth Judicial Circuit, designed, developed and implemented a four hour class titled ‘Children and Divorce." Divorcing parents with children under eighteen are required to take this class. St. Petersburg College was selected to be the educational provider of the program. My responsibilities included coordinating the program, training the instructions and acting as the liaison with the sixth judicial circuit.

Project Supervisor – Excellence in Adjunct Instruction, 1993- 1994. This video-based training series was introduced at the 1994 American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Convention in Washington, D.C. The series was developed by a team of adjuncts, full-time faculty, and administrators. This project was a Bellwether Award Finalist, Institute of Higher Education, 1995 Futures Assembly.

Project Coordinator for a $90,000 Community Resource Training Grant , 1991-1992. The purpose of this grant was to provide training in Substance Abuse Prevention and Intervention to Pinellas County School teachers and administrators. Professionals from the Pinellas County Drug Abuse Prevention program, County Sheriff’s Office, the Medical Examiner’s office, Operation PAR< and St. Petersburg Junior College joined together in presenting these seminars.

Chair – Executive Committee, Focus on Access, Community and Excellence in Teaching (FACET) Commission, July 1989-April 1990. Responsibilities included chairing Executive Committee and full FACET Commission meetings; Coordinating and assimilating the work of five sub-committees (a) Values, (b) Selection and orientation, (c) Evaluation, (d) Faculty and Staff Development, (e) Recognition and Rewards; Producing the" FOCUS on FACET" newsletter; Developing survey instruments and analyzing/reporting the results.
