Kellogg Community College, Battle Creek, Michigan
The RMTC has been recognized by the National Council for
Instructional Administrators (1992) and the National Alliance of
Business (1996) as an exemplary program for its' innovative
instructional programming. In the spring of 1998 the Governor of
Michigan, John Engler, identified the RMTC as the model education /
industry partnership. He cited specific reference to its' flexible
instructional delivery system and its' effectiveness in serving small
and mid-size employers training needs.
Dennis has worked in education for the past 19 years, teaching at
the both the secondary and post secondary levels before becoming the
Department Chair for Trades Technology at Kellogg Community College
in 1986 and then named the director of the RMTC in 1990. He has made
numerous presentations about the RMTC at conferences throughout the
United States. He currently serves as chairperson for the Michigan
Educators Apprenticeship and Training Association in addition to
holding offices with the Michigan Apprenticeship Steering Committee
and the Michigan School-to-Registered-Apprenticeship Consortium. He
currently teaches as an adjunct faculty member for Michigan State and
Western Michigan Universities.
