TITLE: Associate Director

BASIC
FUNCTION:
Assists in
planning, supervision and implementation of programs of fundraising and
development. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Assists the Executive
Director in coordinating all departmental activities for development and
fund-raising efforts of the Foundation on behalf of St. Petersburg College.

Helps the Executive
Director cultivate donor relationships with individuals/corporations who have
an interest in St. Petersburg College.

Secures donations of cash,
real property and planned gifts in support of the college and its programs.

Acts as a liaison to the
Office of Institutional Advancement and the SPC Alumni Association in matters
of fundraising related to alumni.

Acts as a liaison with
faculty, administration and staff of the college, as well as with community
organizations, involving fund acquisitions.

Performs public speaking
engagements representing the Foundation.

Develops and maintains
appropriate procedures to support departmental activities of the Foundation.

Supervises departmental
personnel in daily operation of the SPC Foundation, Inc. office.

Conducts benchmarking and
evaluations for all fund-raising efforts.

Assists in budget planning
for the department.

Assists the Executive
Director in personnel matters including performance management, benchmarking
and evaluation.

Assists with the
development of marketing materials for the Foundation.

Performs related duties as
required.

Assists the Executive
Director and acts in absence of the Executive Director.
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s
degree in a related area.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) years
comparable work experience that includes: proven leadership in a team-oriented
environment accustomed to cultivating and maintaining positive relationships; a
strong track record in development and fund-raising; experience managing
multiple initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of
fund-raising techniques in a college setting. Ability to meet and deal with
prospective donors – alumni/non-alumni, individual/corporate, staff/civic
organizations - in an effective manner. Excellent verbal and written
communications skills. Excellent presentation skills in group settings. Ability
to successfully manage multiple projects. Skill in writing and the use of a
personal computer.
