POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Associate Vice President, Enrollment
Management
DEPARTMENT: Academic & Student Affairs
SITE: EpiCenter
SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P
GRADE: F
BASIC FUNCTION:
Provides college-wide leadership for monitoring enrollment
related activities including oversight to departments whose primary focus is on
facilitating and expanding access to new students. Reports
to the Senior Vice President, Academic & Student Affairs. Works closely with the Vice President of Academic and Student
Affairs to develop a comprehensive student services plan and to ensure best
practice implementation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides leadership and
coordination for SPC’s recruitment and enrollment programs for prospective
and enrolled students.
- Develops short-and long-term
strategic goals for recruitment and enrollment
- Incorporates technology whenever
possible to assist with expanding this access.
- Oversees Central Shared
Services Center
and develops its short- and long-term strategic goals for maximizing the
use of resources (financial, human and technological) in the delivery of
services to all populations of college students.
- Provides leadership and
oversight for the following employees and functions: Director of
Admissions and Records, Director of Enrollment Management, Director of
MySPC Answer Place (MAP),
Director of Shared Services Center, Coordinator of college-wide
Testing, and Manager, Student
System, Functional Support.
- Oversees development and
implementation of policy and services for the site-based MySPC Answer Place (MAPs) with ongoing collaboration
with site administrators.
- Provides leadership with
respect to Student Information system enhancements.
- Works closely with Director
of Institutional Advancement and Director of Web and Instructional
Technology to ensure a consistent branding of SPC
for recruitment and marketing purposes.
- Works closely with Director
of Institutional Advancement to develop and maintain a communication
strategy for prospective and current students using a variety of media
including e-mail, automated calling, instant messaging, podcasts,
webinars, and traditional mail.
- Works closely with the
following offices/functions to continually integrate and improve services
for prospective and enrolled students: Web and Instructional Technology
Services; Business Office; Administrative Information Systems; Technology
Call Center; Institutional Research.
- Works closely with Program Directors
and Deans to assist with targeted recruitment and enrollment related
activities. Assesses college-generated data regarding recruitment and
enrolment as well as external information regarding trends and competing
forces.
- Develops and administers
budget for areas of direct responsibility.
- Recommends hiring, as well as
trains, evaluates, directs and develops all personnel under immediate
supervision.
- Serves as college
representative for enrollment management matters with local, state and
federal agencies.
- Serves on appropriate college-wide
committees/councils.
- Responsible for establishing
informal procedures as needed.
- Serves on various statewide
committees.
- Performs related duties as
required.
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Seven (7) years higher education experience, including experience
in student recruitment and enrollment management. High level experience with
academics and/or student affairs in a college setting. Experience
developing and managing college budgets.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of marketing and communications strategies. Knowledge of
financial aid, counseling, and career services. Knowledge of issues affecting
student services, enrollment management and higher education in general. Verbal and written communications skills. Ability to deal
effectively with students, faculty and staff. Knowledge of effective
student success efforts, from recruitment through graduation/completion.
Ability to successfully manage multiple initiatives. Practical knowledge of
PeopleSoft.
