POSITION TITLE: Baccalaureate Program Specialist, Baccalaureate Programs
 
DEPARTMENT: Baccalaureate Programs & University Partnerships               SITE: Various
 
SALARY SCHEDULE: Administrative & Professional -                                     GRADE: B
 
BASIC FUNCTION:
Executes counseling functions in the student services area.                    
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·         Works closely with deans and associate vice president of Baccalaureate Programs, in establishing and updating admission and graduation rules, policies and procedures. 
·         Provides academic/advising guidance to potential program admittees. 
·         Provides academic/advising guidance to program admittees guiding them to graduation. 
·         Maintains currency in the counseling profession and demonstrates mature, professional judgments. 
·         Maintains currency in federal and state graduation and certification requirements and other state, federal and departmental guidelines related to job. 
·         Develops and makes presentations addressing life skills and college success. 
·         Assists in developing annual departmental objectives and contributes to achieving these objectives. 
·         Maintains and fosters articulation activities with high schools, colleges and universities, and academic programs. 
·         Conducts new student orientations. 
·         Conveys accurate and current academic information to students, faculty, and staff. 
·         Demonstrates sensitivity to the needs of and communicates effectively with students, faculty, and staff. 
·         Understands and uses available technology, materials, and tools related to the job. 
·         Demonstrates initiative in assuming new assignments to address the needs of students and the department. 
·         Enters student data in PeopleSoft and track students’ progress toward degree. 
·         Maintains enrollment data. 
·         Assists in faculty advisor training, as necessary. 
·         Maintains an active role in the recruitment and marketing of the program.  Participates in information sessions, classroom visits, campus visits and other college site visits. 
·         Supports baccalaureate initiatives in Pasco and Hernando County. 
·         Performs related duties as required. 
 
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree in Counseling or a Master’s degree including 18 graduate hours in Counseling.
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Two (2) years experience in the field related to assigned area.
 
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Computer skills. Knowledge of student system and database preferred.
