Position Description
POSITION
TITLE: Coordinator, Academic Programs, Research and Reports
DEPARTMENT: Institutional Research SITE: EpiCenter
SALARY
SCHEDULE: A&P GRADE: C
BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for data collection and summarization for the various assessment
programs of the College.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains an integrated system to collect, manage, analyze, and report data,
regarding the assessment of programs to assist in state reports, legislative
reports, accreditation requirements, accountability and internal institutional
effectiveness.
- Works
with program administrators and faculty to design, validate and implement
assessments for general education and academic programs.

Compiles information for comprehensive academic program review, and works with
program administrators and faculty to summarize information for presentation
to leadership, and the President’s Cabinet.

Manages existing survey instruments, and serves as a consultant in the
development of new survey items to monitor and collect data on program
quality.

Maintains a comprehensive system to compile, manage, evaluate, and report data
associated with college goals, institutional initiatives, and unit plans.

Develops, implements, and maintains continuous improvement training and
assessment plans for general education, program assessment, and college-wide
planning.

Documents business rules, procedures, nomenclatures and standards related to
the use of assessment within the various lower and upper division programs.
- Uses
reporting and queries functionally within PeopleSoft, to gather and verify
data.

Provides supervision and direction to departmental staff on relevant projects

Assists with the development, implementation, verification, and monitoring of
state reporting function.

Performs related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Three
(3) years experience in educational setting including experience in the design,
validation, and implementation of assessments.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Training and/or experience in educational measurement.

Experience with SAS or SPSS software.

Knowledge of educational systems.
-
Knowledge of computer, database, system architecture, and database
administration.

Ability to design and document systems and procedures.
-
Ability to develop and deliver technical training programs and teach systems
and concepts.
-
Ability to function in a team environment with other technical and
administrative staff.

Possession of strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Skill
in planning and preparing for new initiatives.
