POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Coordinator, CME/EMS Program

DEPARTMENT: Continuing Medical Education                                  SITE: HEC

SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P                                                                                                                    GRADE: C

BASIC FUNCTIONS: 

Researches and develops new curriculum opportunities in Emergency Medical Services areas based on training needs of fire departments and ambulance companies. Responsibilities include the hiring, training and supervising of all faculty and the coordinating of all aspects of the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

v      Conducts needs assessment. 

v      Recommends new curriculum areas. 

v      Analyzes the potential profitability of new delivery methodologies. 

v      Visits clients to market programs and monitors program quality. 

v      Works with Institutional Advancement to develop the materials and for both curriculum and marketing. 

v      Hires, trains and supervises the faculty and staff. 

v      Participates in various organizations and events to promote CME/EMS. 

v      Develops and monitors budget. 

v      Performs related duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree in health-related field preferred. Extensive experience or other training in a related may be substituted for the degree requirement.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Three (3) years experience as paramedic. Training and experience related to EMS is required. Experience in developing curriculum-marketing materials and strategies is desired. Management experience desired.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Written and verbal communications skills. Knowledge of EMS field. Knowledge of training methodologies in a health field. Ability and skill to interact with fire and ambulance executives and their staff. Knowledge of marketing and curriculum strategies and techniques. Ability to analyze and predict profitability of new delivery methodologies. Ability to prepare and deliver computer-generated presentations for curriculum purposes. Florida certified paramedic. ACLS and BTLS instructor. PALS certification preferred.
