POSITION DESCRIPTION


POSITION TITLE: Director, Academic Effectiveness and Assessment

DEPARTMENT: Academic Effectiveness        SITE: EPI-CENTER

SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P                          GRADE: D

BASIC FUNCTION: 

Plans, directs, develops, analyzes, reports, and justifies institutional and comparative data elements and outcomes including assessment, forecasting, and graphical analysis. Assists the college in developing program and department level outcomes for continuous review of performance. Assists in identifying areas for potential improvement and facilitates the discussion of possible solutions. Facilitates college projects dealing in the areas of educational outcomes, program evaluation, and assessment.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Master’s degree in Higher Education, Educational Research, Educational Leadership, Mathematics, or Statistics with courses in educational research, design, and statistics. 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

Four (4) years experience in educational and/or institutional research, educational program evaluation, or in a position requiring statistical analysis. Experience in higher education research preferred. 

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 

Knowledge of the practices and procedures involved in educational research.  Ability to design, implement, analyze and report on projects dealing with academic effectiveness and assessment.  Proficiency with Excel, SAS, SPSS or other statistical software.  Ability to meet externally and internally imposed deadlines and to complete projects on a timely basis.  Ability to maintain good working relationships and relevant communication with administration, staff, students and the community using written and verbal communication skills.
