POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Program Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources SITE: Tarpon Springs
SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P GRADE: A
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under general direction performs independent, responsible and complex human resource management services work. Apply and interpret rules to appropriate situations within designated areas of responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
v Serve as the HR liaison with Staff and Program Development to coordinate faculty orientation and other college policy related training programs.
v Coordinates the college Medical Expense Reimbursement and Cancer Reimbursement programs.
v Communicates with employees concerning benefits and answers questions relating to the benefits available.
v Functions as liaison between employees, retirees and insurance companies regarding claims.
v Provides information to employees about college sponsored and voluntary participation benefit programs.
v Coordinate the annual college wide financial planning and annuity open house and workshop sessions
v Distributes and maintains appropriate benefit material and literature.
v Provides information concerning college procedures, policies and benefits through scheduled orientation sessions.
v Responsible for coordinating the implementation of the new hire orientation and records management process.
v Assists employees with questions or problems regarding fee waivers
v Maintains the insurance claims and bank account withdrawal reconciliation report
v Prepares the monthly insurance claims status report
v Coordinates and administers the college’s insurance benefit programs. Reviews insurance proposals and bid specifications. Maintains employee insurance files.
v Responsible for new employee orientation process. Provides information concerning college procedures, policies and benefits through scheduled orientation sessions.
v Coordinates the open enrollment process and sick leave pool enrollment
v Performs a variety of office services tasks including preparing special reports, compiling statistical data and other human resources services.
v Administer the system requirements of the PeopleSoft-Administer Base Benefits module.
v Performs records search and special data research and analysis.
v Performs special projects for college administration as assigned.
v Attendance and Leave
v Reviews requests for extended leaves of absence and implements in accordance with college, state and federal regulations including Family
v Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
v Coordinates the monthly leave accrual process.
v Coordinates the implementation and audit of the sick leave pool program
v Performs related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) years of related experience (six (6) years with Associates degree).
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of basic categories of professional Human Resources Management practices including advanced and specialized knowledge of employee benefits and other major categories of human resource management. Ability to make sound judgments based on facts found in human resource management related investigations. Possession of a valid Florida Drivers License. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to deal effectively with people, agencies and organizations. Ability to handle sensitive situations in an appropriate manner. Knowledge of various computer applications including PeopleSoft and MicroSoft Office.
