POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION TITLE: Program Director I * (Collegiate High School)

DEPARTMENT: Collegiate High School                SITE: SP/G

SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P                                    GRADE: C

 

BASIC FUNCTION:

Administers plans, organizes, and directs programs/courses/personnel within a division.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·          Teaches a minimum of one course annually as part of base contract or supplemental contract.

·         Plans, develops, implements and coordinates curricula for Collegiate High School Program

·         May assist in recommending hiring of instructors. Trains, directs and assists in evaluating all personnel under immediate supervision.

·         May assist in developing and administering budgets for programs.

·         Assists students in program planning, course selection, and career occupational guidance.

·         Communicates with other program directors and faculty regarding policies, procedures and personnel matters.

·         Handles grievances within department as required.

·         Works with all phases of College (bookstore, business office, etc.) in connection with course scheduling and registration.

·         Interacts with community and College personnel in identifying problems, assessing educational needs and developing activities.

·         Works with state department of education and other colleges/universities and agencies in developing programs.

·         Assists Principal and other college personnel in projects, reports, preparation for accreditation, and reports regularly on the status of the curriculum to assure that all required program standards are being met relating to specific education projects.

·         Responsible for establishing informal procedures as needed.

·         Performs related duties as required.

·         Develops and manages the academic schedule of courses for all sessions.

·         Monitors enrollment and productivity for all courses.

·         Responsible for completing and /or assisting all County and State Charter School reporting.

·         Conducts information sessions to keep stakeholders informed of changes or additions including the School Advisory Council.

·         Serves as principal designee with the principal is not on campus.

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree in Adult/Secondary Education, Educational Administration, major related to discipline, or related field. Must hold a valid Florida Teaching Certificate.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Three (3) years in curriculum development and adult/middle or high school teaching experience.

 

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of micro-computer applications.

Skill in technical writing and data analysis.

 

PREFERRED/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Administrative Experience and high school teaching experience.
