POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Supervisor, Printing
Services
DEPARTMENT: Institutional Advancement

BASIC FUNCTION:
Supervises and manages the collegewide
printing services and operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Organizes and assigns daily printing schedules
to printing services staff. Receives and processes printing requests. Establishes
work priorities.

Purchases and maintains records of printing
supplies needed for the operations.

Estimates printing costs. Evaluates maintenance
agreements on equipment.

Submits data to the accounting unit to
bill other departments for services rendered.

Conducts periodic inventories and assures
that supplies and equipment are functioning well to provide services.

Prepares annual budget for the unit. Prepares
payroll and maintains time and related personnel data.

Supervises, assigns work and evaluates
performance of printing services personnel. Plans, approves and disapproves
vacation and leave time.

Assures confidentiality for tests and
other material being run in the print shop.

Works with college departments to determine
their printing needs and schedules.

Implements and recommends improvements
to operating procedures.

Performs related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Two (2) years of college with course
work in finance, accounting or business is preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) years experience in a print
shop or printing press distribution involving customer service, purchasing
and accounts maintenance.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of the operations and procedures
involved in a print shop. Knowledge of the machines and equipment used
in a print shop. Ability to maintain cost and accounting records relating
to the operation. Ability to maintain good relationships with vendors,
employees and administrators. Skill in print shop management. Supervisory
skills. Verbal and written communications skills. Ability to operate computer
equipment. Ability to perform cost estimates of printing projects.
