POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Events Specialist

DEPARTMENT:  Institutional Advancement                                                        SITE: DO

SALARY SCHEDULE: Senior Career                                                              GRADE: 7

BASIC FUNCTION:

Plans and Implements internal and public events as well as social functions for the college. Collaborates with the College president's office and campus administration regarding initiation, scheduling, and planning of special events. Interfaces with vendors to arrange for food, beverages, decorations and other materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Two (2) years of related experience.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Possession of teamwork and communication skills. Computer proficiency. Ability to interact with students, business, faculty & staff, and members of the community. Excellent communication skills and knowledge of proper social protocol. Leadership ability to ensure that all phases of events are properly planned and executed. Supervision of staff assigned to various events.
