POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Program Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources SITE: DO
SALARY

BASIC
FUNCTION:
Provide
highly responsible, paraprofessional support in the benefits administration
program of the HR department.
SAMPLES
of RESPONSIBILITIES (actual duties will vary as assigned):

Assist in the planning,
schedule and conduct of benefits open enrollment sessions
-
Serve as liaison between employment
and Pay/benefits for the proper processing of budgeted personnel, prepare
contracts and files accordingly.

Prepare final payments/requisitions
for all benefits and deduction programs following reconciliation with
appropriate HR area (mostly benefits)
-
Maintain benefits accounting records
and reports.

Process employee and dependant fee
waivers
-
Prepare materials and administer
process for college employee awards and recognition program.
-
Audit monthly claim
history with bank withdrawals and reconcile the monthly enrollment data with
deductions.

Assist with the review and
verification of Wellness reimbursements
-
Assist in the administration
of the Medical Expense Reimbursement Program and serve as liaison with third
party administrator
-
Serve as liaison between
employment and Pay/benefits for the proper processing of budgeted personnel,
prepare contracts and files accordingly.

Prepare materials and
administer process for college employee awards and recognition program

Provides assistance to
United Way Campaign Coordinator by collecting pledges from employees,
maintaining database of employees’ contributions. Prepares report of number
of payroll deductions for contributions. Sends thank-you letters to employees
who make pledges during campaign. Completes United Way Pledge Summary Card for
United Way Representative; prepares receipt for
United Way
representative of cash and check pledges.

Performs records
search and special data research and analysis.

Makes reports of
findings to appropriate college administrators. May prepare written or verbal
reports depending on the needs and circumstances.

Performs special
projects for college administration as assigned.

Performs related
duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Associate’s degree or completion of two (2) years of college with courses
related to the job responsibilities.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Five
(5) years of related experience (or equivalent combination of training and
experience)
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of human Resources Management practices.
Knowledge of sentence structure and word usage. Skill in reading comprehension.
Ability to assess applicant's experience via the telephone or in person. Ability
to make sound judgments based on facts found in analyzing key HR situations,
Possession of a valid Florida Drivers License. Skill in the use of a computer.
Verbal and written communications skills. Ability to deal with people, agencies
and organizations. Ability to handle sensitive situations.
