POSITION DESCRIPTION

SALARY SCHEDULE: Facilities/Skilled Trades Level: 1
BASIC FUNCTION:
Performs maintenance tasks
in the repair of buildings and facilities at college sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
v
Performs
general trades tasks in plumbing, painting, roofing and electrical work.
v
Patches
and paints interior and exterior of buildings and structures.
v
Patches
leaks in roof. Repairs, replaces, tars and maintains roof.
v
Performs
preventative maintenance to air conditioning units such as replacing seals
around units and servicing.
v
Repairs
and replaces doors, windows and locks.
v
Performs
plumbing maintenance and repair projects.
v
May
be assigned to assist and perform duties of the construction crews on a
temporary or periodic basis.
v
May
be assigned to work with an Electrician in the installation, maintenance and
repair of systems.
v
Assists
other maintenance personnel and performs building maintenance tasks as assigned.
v
Maintains
records of hours and materials used on projects.
v
Performs
related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from an
accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) years experience
in one or more of the building trades.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of the building
trades. Ability to climb ladders and lift heavy equipment. General knowledge of
electricity. Knowledge of the equipment and tools used in a variety of trades
work. Knowledge of basic mathematics. Skill in reading comprehension. Ability
to pass a post qualification physical examination. CDL Class "D"
Florida Driver's License.
