POSITION TITLE: Nursing Skills Facilitator

DEPARTMENT: Nursing SITE: HEC

SALARY SCHEDULE: APM - GRADE: A

BASIC FUNCTION:

Functions as resources person to assist students in achieving their nursing objectives on an individual and group basis in clinical and college laboratories.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists nursing students on a group basis or in a laboratory.
• Supervises students in clinical procedures.
• Controls and coordinates usage of laboratory equipment and media to meet student and instructional requirements.
• Serves as resource person to assist students in assignments.
• Assists professional teaching faculty in program administration and with materials.
• Works with community agencies in related nursing activities.
• Prepares and displays instructional material (audiovisuals, periodicals, etc.) appropriate to programs being taught.
• Assesses student skills in coordination with instructor.
• Helps students practice skills.
• Performs related duties as required.

B.S.N. Degree. Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Florida.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Two (2) years of full-time experience in clinical practice as a registered nurse, and/or actively engaged in studies leading to the next higher degree in nursing to a related field, and/or the equivalent of at least two (2) full-time academic years of experience as a teacher of nursing.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of the procedures and practices of the nursing profession. Knowledge of instructional practices. Ability to facilitate the learning process of students. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Communication skills. Knowledge of sentence structure. Knowledge of word usage. Skill in reading comprehension. Skill in proofreading. Knowledge of basic mathematics. CPR Certification. A.R.N.P. Certification.
