POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: PeopleSoft Functional Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Vice President Administration SITE: Various
SALARY SCHEDULE: Career & Professional GRADE: 7
BASIC FUNCTION:
Provides functional expertise regarding the PeopleSoft Student System to campus staff to improve registration or counseling and advisement productivity. Also, acts as a hands-on problem solver who identifies and solves PeopleSoft related problems and then disseminates best practices to other sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a resource person for campus personnel on specific PeopleSoft issues.
Identifies creative solutions to unique PeopleSoft problems and refers complex problems that are serious and high-impact in nature to the appropriate PeopleSoft Coordinator or AIS technical staff member.
Identifies and shares best practices with staff at all campuses to disseminate learning.
Develop procedures within PeopleSoft framework to facilitate quality functional services.
Support clean-up of conversion and input errors.
Provide site training for new employees, and in-depth training to select staff to expand resource base for sites.
Provide testing assistance for patches, upgrades, and programming changes to PeopleSoft Student System.
Serve as PeopleSoft functional help desk resource during peak periods.
Serves as a communication liaison between campus staff, technical experts (AIS), Helpdesk, and PeopleSoft functional team.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Associate’s degree.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENT:
Knowledge of PeopleSoft Student System related to the area of responsibility. Knowledge of SPC rules and procedures related to area of responsibility. Ability to provide one-on-one and small group training. Excellent communication skills
