BASIC FUNCTION:
Serves as
Production Specialist to College Videographer in producing promotional video
productions for
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Coordinates and participates in a variety of complex, technical tasks related to the operation of video and equipment, including but not limited to, filming and editing complete projects and providing backup to Supervisor.
· Assists in all aspects of television and video production including pre-planning, scripting, producing, post-producing, and field production.
· Participates in all phases of pre, post and field production activities including script writing, scouting locations, interviewing, set-up and striking.
· Edits program content to ensure communication goals are met.
· Perform videotape recordings from linear events such as a lecture or surgical procedure to taping to a script in film style for A/B roll editing.
· Edits recorded video and/or audio tape per client or project director instructions; may involve a rough edit of a linear event for approval or one-on-one editing with faculty content experts identifying each edit point.
· Provides backup and performs full duties as necessary in operating the video editing room.
· Schedules and operates all types of audiovisual equipment in multiple locations such as cameras, switchers, audio mixers, videotape recorders/players, editors, character generators, and automated playback equipment. Maintains records for work performed.
· Assist with all video needs including equipment repair, training on equipment, inventory, videotape recording and editing; advises departments regarding proper selection and use of audiovisual equipment.
· May develop video programs or tapes for marketing, community outreach, training, or documentary purposes.
· Performs related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Associates
degree or equivalent combination of training in media production or related
area.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Three (3) years experience in media production in the operation of video and audio equipment including experience in recording and editing projects.
Knowledge of television and video techniques, principles, and practices. Knowledge of equipment utilized in television production, broadcasting, and editing. Knowledge of the operation of video and audio equipment. Ability to plan and coordinate video productions from inception to telecast. Ability to operate video production equipment. Ability to story board and write scripts for television. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Ability to use personal computers and related software including word processing, database management, desktop publishing, graphic design, and electronic mail. Ability to exercise sound judgment in complex situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to transport equipment and supplies to locations and position people, props, and equipment.
