POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: International Programs Representative

DEPARTMENT: International Programs SITE: SPG

SALARY SCHEDULE: Senior Career GRADE: 7- Exempt

BASIC FUNCTION:

Assists the Director of International Programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists with promotional/marketing for international events as needed.  
• Assists with procedural and technological tasks as assigned.
• Assists with development, preparation and continuous updating of program materials.
• Assists the director of international programs with assignments as assigned.
• Attends International meetings at the college as needed to be consistent on each campus.
• Collaborates with SPC departments — academic and non-academic — as appropriate for the initiative.
• Communicates with academic staff and faculty regarding program policies and procedures.
• Coordinates activities and trips for International visitors that encourage educational partnerships.
• Coordinates with appropriate offices and agencies to plan visits for International delegations.
• Coordinates partnerships and collaborations with international colleges/universities or businesses, groups, governments and other, as directed.
• Interacts with external international industries, businesses, and professional groups on behalf of the college.
• Promotes and facilitates international initiatives and assists in development of reciprocal agreements.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field or an equivalent combination of professional education and international experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Three (3) years experience in event planning , public and/or international relations or related experience working within the international community; bilingual preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of academic departments and programs in an institution of higher education. Ability to relate to students in the specialized area of assignment. Verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills. Ability to work with students, faculty, and staff.
