POSITION
TITLE: Risk Management Services Specialist
DEPARTMENT:
Facilities (Security, Risk Management and Operations)
SITE: EpiCenter
SALARY

GRADE: 7
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under general
direction performs independent, responsible and complex work in support of a
college campus(s) environment. Support services include, but are not limited to
coordination of Risk Management functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains liaison with the
Florida Community College Risk Management Consortium Office.

Develops and coordinates
specific components of a Risk Management Program for the college excluding
health and life insurance.

Assists in coordinating
internal reporting systems and in developing procedures and records.

Reviews federal laws and
regulations, state statutes and policies and Board rules relating to Risk
Management.

Assists in the development
of rules and procedures in conjunction with the Board and the Florida
Community College Risk Management Program.

Annually report building
content values to the Florida Community College Risk Management Program.

Establishes and maintains
a cost accounting system for the Risk Management Program.

Monitors vendors’
certificates of insurance.

Coordinates claim
settlements.
-
Receives accident/incident
reports and monitors subsequent investigations.
-
Processes Worker’s Compensation claims and maintains OSHA log.
-
Communicates with injured employees, human resosurces and college’s servicing
agent.

Provide
summary reports to Director of Security, Risk Management & Operations.

Reviews
requests for
ADA
reasonable accommodation in accordance with college policy and coordinates
resolution.

Performs related duties as
required
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's
degree or completion of two (2) years of college with courses related to the job
responsibilities.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
Four (4) years
of related experience.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of
basic categories of professional Risk Management practices, including insurance
and Worker’s Compensation. Ability to make sound judgments based on facts.
Possession of a valid Florida Drivers License. Skill in the use of a computer.
Verbal and written communications skills. Ability to deal with people, agencies
and organizations. Ability to handle sensitive situations.
