POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Instructor - Computer Related Crime Investigations and Information Technology Security Program
DEPARTMENT: Criminal Justice/Educational & Student Services SITE: Variable
SALARY SCHEDULE: Instructional - 36 ECH GRADE: NA
BASIC FUNCTION:
A faculty member at SPC has the primary function of instruction, coaching, and student development. Secondary functions include assisting the College in developing and maintaining a quality program of instruction, providing service to the College and continuing professional development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Faculty teaching associate degree courses designed for transfer to a baccalaureate degree must possess a doctoral or a master’s degree in the teaching discipline (subject area) or a master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline/subject area).
This position will require a minimum of a Master’s degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Police Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Technology Security in addition to Industry recognized certification in IT Security and/or Computer Forensics.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in college/university teaching, for a minimum of two years. Prefer experience with on-line educational environment as well as classroom and lab environments either in person or on-line. Experience in grant writing, project management, marketing and presenting to large groups is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
A distinguished record of
excellence in professional or teaching career. Demonstrated ability to work
with Industry, faculty, staff and the community. Specific areas of interest
include but not limited to: course preparation and seminar development,
knowledge of computer network forensics and securing networks, current technical
and legal issues related to computer network forensics, securing networks and
information systems, security policies and procedures, quality policy and
procedures, and marketing strategy and implementation. Strength and experience
in On-Line course development and coordination. Managerial experience
preferred. Strong
written and oral communications skills; computer skills; assessment expertise.
