POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Pre-Health/Health Education Tutor II

DEPARTMENT: Educational and Student Services  SITE: Various

SALARY SCHEDULE: OPS - GRADE: 6

BASIC FUNCTION:

Supervises and instructs students in a complex and specialized learning laboratory or other similar instructional location, under the supervision of a professional faculty member or other staff person.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Tutoring
• Test reviews
• Generating student handouts and study aids
• Running workshops
• Maintaining the student database
• Running the general study lab
• Opening and closing the New Initiative Learning Support Center
• Ordering and maintaining equipment

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Associate’s degree. Bachelor's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

One (1) year experience teaching or tutoring students.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Competence in various subject areas assigned. Knowledge of the methods appropriate for instruction in the subject areas assigned. Communications skills. Ability to operate a computer. Ability to interact well with students and faculty. Ability to teach the subject area of assignment.
