Worker's Compensation

St. Petersburg College provides a comprehensive worker's compensation insurance program for all College employees.

If you need EMERGENCY Treatment call 911 and Campus Security from any college phone ext. 2560 or 791-2560.

If you do NOT need 911 Emergency but will require medical treatment:

  1. Contact Security immediately at ext. 2560 from any College phone or from an outside line 791-2560 to report the accident/incident.

Complete the College Accident-Incident Report by clicking on the following link:  Accident/Incident Report

Fax the Accident/Incident report to Risk Management 341-3040 and give the original to your supervisor for signing.

  1. To request Medical Treatment call Risk Management ext. 3080 from any College phone or from an outside line 341-3080.

NOTE:  Only Risk Management may authorize medical treatment in non-emergency related situations.

You will be referred to the College's Workers' Compensation Primary Care Physician at:

Lakeside Occupational Medical Center

Office Hours:  Monday - Friday

7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

  1. If Lakeside Occupational Center and Risk Management are CLOSED report to the nearest Emergency Room and notify your supervisor as soon as possible.

NOTE:  You will be required to report to Lakeside Occupational Medical Center on the next business day, after contacting Risk Management.  Monday morning is considered the next business day for Friday after 5:00 p.m., Saturday, and/or Sunday.

F.A.Q. - Questions about WORK RELATED INJURIES

Who is covered by Workers' Compensation?
All employees including OPS, Adjuncts, Volunteers and Student Assistants.

Who is not covered?
Students going to class and contractors. Students should seek medical attention through their own physician.

Can I go to my own Doctor and have Workers' Compensation pay for this?
No - you must be referred to a authorized workers' compensation doctor.

What if I don't like the network Doctor?
You may change your treating physician one time only.

What are my rights under Workers' Compensation?
You may visit the Department of Labor, Workers' Compensation Web Page at http://www2.myflorida.com/les/wc/ for information. Risk Management will also be able to answer pertinent questions and concerns you may have.
