APPLY NOW!
If you are not a U.S. citizen and you want to live in the United States to study at St. Petersburg College, please read all of the following information before you begin the process. If you are a transfer student or are currently in the U.S. on a B2 Visitor Visa, please make sure you read the additional information at the bottom of this page.

Our online application makes it fast and easy for you to apply to St. Petersburg College. Please follow each step carefully. After you arrive in the U.S., we are ready to help you complete the process.

Step 1

Complete our online application. (The application includes instructions to submit the non-refundable fee of $135 by credit card or mail.) Note the application deadlines for international students on our Academic Calendar.

Step 2

International students are required to have a sponsor to verify financial support. FAX or mail the appropriate financial forms as listed below:

727-341-3510 (FAX)

St. Petersburg College
International Student Services, SP/G
P. O. Box 13489
St Petersburg, FL 33733

For your convenience, these forms can be filled out online and printed.

For a sponsor in the United States:
SPC requires you to complete a Statement of Financial Ability form with the appropriate sponsor signatures.

The U.S. Government also requires that the sponsor submit an Affidavit of Support, I-134.

Supporting documentation includes a copy of a current bank statement (within the last three months) and the last filed income tax form. All documents forwarded are held in strictest confidence.

For a sponsor outside the United States:
SPC requires you to complete a Statement of Financial Ability form with the appropriate sponsor signatures.

Supporting documentation includes a copy of a current bank statement (within the last three months) for the student to take to the appointment at the U. S. Embassy. It must show an amount equal to or more than the amount shown on the I-20 form.

Step 3

Submit your high school transcript or diploma to an approved agency for evaluation and translation into English. The official translated document must be sent to us at the address listed below.

For university or college credit earned outside the U.S., a course-by-course evaluation is required from an approved agency. The official translated document must be sent to us at the address listed below.

Step 4

To determine your placement in college courses you must complete our Computerized Placement Test or provide official transcripts showing college-level coursework.

Many international students are interested in improving their language skills while living in the United States. Our English for Academic Purposes program offers a variety of options based on your needs including our new Fast Track classes.

Step 5

Complete I-20 visa requirements.

For students who are out of the country, an I-20 form will be prepared and sent to you. For students who are in the U. S., contact the International Student Services office.

After you receive your I-20 form, you must contact the nearest U. S. Embassy to schedule an appointment for your student VISA. You will be instructed on how to pay the $100 SEVIS fee. There is a Web site for credit card payments. If you mail in the payment, you must have the receipt before you go to the Embassy. You must pay this fee AFTER you receive your I-20 because the I.D. number from your I-20 is required.

TRANSFER STUDENTS
Transfer students are required to complete the admissions packet and pay the one time fee of $135. Also, please bring your current I-20 form and passport, proof of high school graduation and a transcript from your previous school(s).

To complete your transfer, you must contact your current school to process a “transfer out” to St. Petersburg College with the appropriate campus. Also, have your current school's international office complete their International Clearance form and FAX it to us at 727-341-3510.

B-2 VISITOR VISA STATUS
If you entered the U.S. on a B2 Visitor VISA you must process a change of status to student status and may not begin classes until the approval has been received from Immigration (USCIS). The change of status fee is $300.  Processing time is at least 140-200 days. In addition, you will be required to pay the $100 SEVIS fee mentioned above in Step 5.
