SPANISH LANGUAGE IMMERSION
CUENCA, ECUADOR
The Spanish study abroad program in Cuenca, Ecuador, is designed for SPC students who want to dramatically increase their Spanish language skills.
This is a four-week intensive language experience where the student is immersed in the language and culture of Ecuador. It is coordinated by Estudio Sampere.
Classes are offered at all levels and are taught by Ecuadorian professors five days a week. The instructional program includes 20 language lessons addressing function and communicative skills plus four cultural lessons per week.
Cultural activities and tours reinforce the student’s proficiency in the language and appreciation of the culture. View our image gallery.
Estudio Sampere is a NAFSA affiliate and is accredited by Spain’s Instituto Cervates, the most well-recognized international accreditation body for Spanish language instruction.
Additional information is provided by Estudio Sampere in Cuenca. Some of the details, such as “arrival instructions” and other parts of this document will vary for St. Petersburg College travelers. Any needed clarifications will be provided at SPC orientation and information sessions.

PROGRAM COST ESTIMATES
In order to help you keep your costs down, students are responsible for arranging their own transportation to Belize.
For planning purposes, we have provided a detailed cost estimate summary that includes a rough estimate of what you can expect to pay for your travel. You may find that you are able to secure flight arrangements for a significantly lower cost than what is noted on the form. The cost estimate summary also can be used to calculate other program costs (tuition, etc). Please let us know if you have any questions.

We are happy to announce that Wayne Kruger, assistant director of Financial Assistance Services, is available to answer any questions you may have about financial aid for this year’s Study Abroad program.
Because several of the cost items for each trip are optional or variable, your cost may differ from the examples shown on this Web site. For instance, one student found a round-trip airfare to Ecuador that was over $500 less than our estimates. So please explore all your options. We hope to include as many of you as possible on these trips!
