Reserve
materials in Libraries Current textbooks for many courses are kept at the check-out desk for
student use within the library. Faculty may place additional
selections, including notes and tests, on reserve throughout the
session. Please allow adequate advance time for the library to
process these reserve items.

Library faculty provide
class and individual instruction in the following areas: general
orientation, research methods, and Internet research. Instruction can also be tailored to subject needs.
Subject
Internet classes may also be scheduled. Librarians
can also visit individual classrooms for instruction. Please
book instructions well in advance, and obtain a 424 Request for
Library Instruction at the library to schedule an instruction. Library instruction can be booked online by using the service

Faculty
may request books, videos, and periodicals to be considered for purchase and addition to the library collection.
Purchases will
be made on the basis of funds available and curricular needs. Requests can be made via the email link on the
SPC Library Online --Acquisitions or by
filling in a Materials Request Form in one of the libraries, or by
talking with one of the librarians at your site.

Most
classrooms and buildings have standard types of AV equipment
in place. Important: Requests are now directed through
campus administration. |

specialized databases, teaching resources and copyright clearinghouses

E-struction - How to Use Library Online |
Conference rooms are available for faculty and group use
in most libraries. Because of high use, faculty need to
reserve conference rooms in advance to insure availability.
Faculty who wish to bring classes to the library are
strongly encouraged to give the reference desk advance
notice, to allow for adequate computer access, staffing and
assistance. Some sites require pre-booking for best service

to locate books.

The
libraries house a complete collection of math tapes, telecourses, and
CLAST review tapes for viewing and borrowing. In addition, there
are videocassettes in a variety of subject areas for classroom
instructional use.

staff may check books out for more than the 28 days allowed for
students - as long as a session, if needed. Special arrangements
can also be made at the check-out desk for faculty to borrow magazines
overnight. |
