What you need to know...

  • SPD-sponsored training is restricted to employees in budgeted positions only. Employees in OPS or adjunct positions are invited to enroll in Corporate Training classes at their own expense with supervisor approval.

  • For employees in grant-funded positions, training costs are charged to the grant.

  • Web-based courses are available 24/7 and can be completed on site with supervisor’s approval.

  • Diverse college-sponsored courses will be available to select from each month at NO COST to the employee.  See schedule below.

  • Supervisors should  identify employees’ training needs that would enhance the department’s skill set or has been an identified need from a performance review.

Non-college-sponsored courses

Employees may select courses that meet identified training needs or are job-related but that are not college-sponsored by browsing the Corporate Training website  and selecting an appropriate course.  To register, please use the same process described above.

If the course meets during regular work hours, employees must obtain supervisor-approved leave, which will be deducted from their leave balance.
