Training is restricted to employees in budgeted positions only.
It is not for employees in OPS or adjunct positions.
For employees in grant-funded positions, training costs are
charged to the grant.
Web-based courses
are available 24/7 and can be completed on site with supervisor’s approval.
Diverse college-sponsored courses
will be available to select from each month at NO COST to the employee.

Supervisors should identify
employees’ training needs that would enhance the department’s skill set or
has been an identified need from a performance review.

steps
Get with your
supervisor to assess your training needs
With your supervisor,
select a course from the
schedule.
Your supervisor will
then obtain Cabinet member approval.
Have yoursupervisorcomplete and submit theSPD/Corporate Training Workshop
application on your behalf (this can only be
submitted after you have received cabinet approval).
Registration
Confirmation
You, along with your supervisor
and cabinet member will receive an e-mail confirmation of
registration.
Non-college-sponsored courses
Employees may select courses
that meet identified training needs or are job-related but that are not
college-sponsored by browsing the
Corporate Training website and selecting an appropriate course. To register,
please use the same process described
above.
If the
course meets during regular work hours, employees must obtain
supervisor-approved leave, which will be deducted from their leave
balance.
