Early Childhood Education

(CDA Equivalency and Apprenticeship)  

 

In accordance with the Interinstitutional Articulation Agreement between the Pinellas County School Board  and the St. Petersburg College Board of Trustees, this program-to-program agreement provides opportunities for students to receive college credit for appropriate work completed at the Pinellas Technical Education Center.  St. Petersburg College agrees to award college credit to Pinellas Technical Education Center graduates as specifically defined below.

St. Petersburg College Equivalents

Early Childhood Education V200210; V20021R

EEC 1308 Early Childhood Planning & Mgmt.                       3 cr.

AND

EEC 1602 Behavioral Observation & Screening in Child Care  1 cr.

Successfully completing at SPC with a “C” or better:

EEC 2500 Child Development Overview                                1 cr.

12 credit hours toward the Early Childhood Education AS Degree and

EEC 2521 Child Care Regulations                                        1 cr.

EEC 1603 Early Childhood Development

EEC 2943 Inservice Training: Child Development for CDA       3 cr.

 

A minimum grade point average of 2.0 in the above courses will be required before credit is issued. A grade of "P" will be given for the college credit. Students must enroll at SPC after completing the Early Childhood Education Program with a valid CDA/CDAE to be eligible to receive the articulated credit. This Career Pathways/Tech Prep Articulation Agreement replaces any previously existing agreements relating to the aforementioned program
