Admission Requirements:  Students entering the Associate in Applied Science and or the Associate in Science Program in Hospitality and Tourism Management must have a standard high school diploma or its equivalent, or a CPT Eligible Certificate of Completion.  Students must meet the requirements of State Board Rule 6A-10.0315(3), FAC (College preparatory testing, placement, and instruction. --).  Students earning scores less than those listed shall enroll in college preparatory communication and computation instruction.

 

Validation Mechanisms: School district technical center and community college faculty committee met and agreed to propose that the 600 clock hour program in Lodging Operations shall articulate a minimum of 9 college credit hours to the AAS/AS Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. 

 

Credits will be awarded based upon successful completion of the following courses when the Educational Institute of the Hotel and Lodging Association (EI-AHLA) certificate of course completion has been earned:

Hospitality Today: An Introduction             

Managing Front Office Operations              

Managing Housekeeping Operations           

Supervision in Hospitality                                    

 

Optionally will award course credits toward AAS/AS program for 3 hours of credit for each of the certificates of completion listed above up to a maximum of 9 credit hours

OR

 up to a maximum of 9 credit hours for a Student Portfolio Assessment which documents the same competencies as listed above.  (Note: Assessment form is attached below)
