Student Clubs & Organizations

Access to a College Education (A.C.E.)

Open to all students who have an interest in disabilities, the disabled, and disability education. An open forum to share ability experiences and ideas among the campus at large.  Advisor: Aimee Stubbs, (727)791-2710.

BADEYA (Black Student Union)

To foster a sense of community and respect among all students; particularly students of the African Diaspora. Advisor: Jim Parker, (727) 791-2512.

ENGINEERING CLUB (Florida Engineering Society, FES)

Open to all students who have an interest in engineering, open forum to share ability experiences and ideas among the campus at large.  Advisor: John Williams, (727)791-2490.  For more information please send e-mail SPC Engineering.

FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES

To present to athletes and coaches and all whom they influence the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church. Advisor: John Hughes, (727) 791-2438.

CLUB GREEN

To educate and inform the student population and college on environmental and energy-saving procedures, techniques and to actively participate in community events such as beach clean-ups, Earth Day and projects etc. Advisor: Jason Green, (727) 341-3283.

HIGH ACHIEVERS (part of Student Support Services)

To inspire students to excel personally, academically, and professionally to obtain their goals by providing an atmosphere of support, friendship, and a freedom to pursue their individual dreams. Advisor: Daphne Mitchell, (727)791-2440.

INTERVARSITY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP

Intervarsity Christian Fellowship is an interdenominational, multi-ethnic, worldwide movement of students and faculty who are committed to Jesus Christ as lord.  Advisor:  Carmen Hall, (727) 791-2561.

LATINOS UNITED

To create awareness of the Hispanic/Latino culture. Open to all students focusing on Hispanic Heritage with an array of activities to promote education and personal growth. Advisor: Malena Buck.

PHI THETA KAPPA, TAU ZETA CHAPTER (Honor Society)

An internationally recognized honor society for two year college students whose goals are scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship. Membership requirements include: 3.25 GPA or higher, completion of 12 college-level credit hours at SPC; and payment of one time membership dues. Advisor: Jeff Schering.

POSITIVE DIRECTIONS ASSOCIATION (part of Women on the Way)

To assist the Women on the Way Challenge Center as it encourages adult students who have been out of an educational or vocational environment to adjust to their new role and environment; to encourage and promote social and educational involvement and to act as mentors for adult students. Advisor: Sharon Coil, (727)791-2555.

SPORTS AND RECREATION

To create and promote friendly competition among students, faculty and staff with a variety of sport, fitness, and recreational activities and events. Advisor: Rodrigo Davis, (727)791-2626.

STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION (S.G.A.)

To act as the official liaison between the student body and the college administration.  Meetings are held every Monday at 1:15 p.m. in CR-144.  Advisor: Rodrigo Davis, (727)791-2626.

TOASTMASTERS

Most Toastmasters meetings are comprised of approximately 20 people who meet weekly for an hour or two. Participants practice and learn skills by filling a meeting role, ranging from giving a prepared speech or an impromptu one to serving as timer, evaluator or grammarian.  Advisor: Rodrigo Davis, (727)791-2726.

UNITED NATIONS INTEGRATING TOGETHER (U.N.I.T)

To explore different cultures and unify our student body, faculty/staff through diversity.  Advisor: Paula Bagwell, (727)791-2415.
