Biography:
A little information about myself: I've been at SPC for 14 years working as a librarian. I was a returning student and began my re-entry into college at Pensacola Junior College in Pensacola, Florida. My bachelor's degree is in Interdisciplinary Humanities, and my masters is in Library Science.

I have enjoyed the shift to online resources that has occurred in the past 15 years in the library field. As coordinator of Online Reference Services at SPC's M.M. Bennett Library, I welcome online users of that service as well as students in the physical library. Reference is my passion!

I have three grown children, two of whom began their college careers at a community college, also. My major hobbies are reading, (no surprise!), especially history, long walks for exercise, and gardening/yard work.

Teaching Philosophy:
Influenced by the unique opportunity that I was given to seek a higher educational degree later in life, my educational philosophy is summed up by saying that education does more than just give a person hands-on skills for the workplace which are very valuable; education also enriches you as a human being. My advice to students is to enjoy each adventure you encounter in learning in college and beyond!
