The Power of Ethics: 10 Reasons Successful Leaders Model
Ethical Behavior
4 Hours
Description
According to a 2006 LRN
Ethics Study, “ 94% of employees report that it is ‘critical’ or ‘important’
that the company they work for is ethical”. “One in three employed Americans
has left a job for ethical reasons.” Despite the fact that leadership demands
congruence between what the organization’s values are and the behaviors and
practices modeled by leaders at all levels, ultimately, ethical choices are made
by individuals, not corporations. Leaders have the responsibility of creating
an environment that encourages ethical choices and holds people accountable for
the choices that are made. This course will include guidelines for creating an
ethical, accountable environment; case studies for discussion; an ethical action
test leaders can apply for their own decision-making and implement with their
employees; ten reasons a leader should model ethical behavior; and 49 ways to
“walk the talk”. Who should attend: individuals with a responsibility of
leading or influencing others.
