Aim for Six Sigma™ success
Our goal is to equip you to successfully implement the proven Six Sigma™ processes in your business. SPC Corporate Training offers the following levels of training to meet your needs:
Executive Black Belt program
204 hours
The goal of the Executive Black Belt program is learning to lead Six Sigma™ projects. The course consists of 204 hours over several months. Potential candidates include:
- Engineers
- Scientists
- Process improvement team leaders
- Project managers/leaders
- Quality control and quality assurance key managers
- Anyone responsible for process improvement
Application requirements
The program requires sponsorship from your company and a current project assigned to you as project leader. Your application to the program must include:
- A formal statement of recommendation from your sponsor.
- A company-designated process improvement project in which you are assigned as project leader.
- Your personal letter of intent.
- Your current resume.
- A college degree plus two years experience or five years experience in project management.
Course outline
There is no better way to learn than to apply the principles on an actual project, so each candidate will enter the first day of training with a project. You will work through the following phases with your project team between training sessions. The focus of the training is on utilizing the Six Sigma™ methodology and applying the tools to real-life examples, homework, and actual projects. Participants follow the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control phases) methodology for five, 40-hour weeks on the following schedule:
- Week 1 - Define phase
Choosing the right project; proper scope and metrics determined.
Monday, 12/8/08 and Thursday, 12/11/08
- Week 2 - Measure phase
Important metrics measured; accuracy and precision verified.
Monday, 1/12/09 and Thursday, 1/15/09
- Week 3 - Analyze phase
Data analyzed using statistical tools and techniques.
Monday, 2/9/09 and Thursday, 2/12/09
- Week 4 - Improve phase
Design of Experiments (DOE).
Monday, 3/9/09 and Thursday, 3/12/09
- Week 5 - Control phase
Ccontrol plan developed to ensure long-term sustainable gains.
Monday, 4/13/09 and thursday, 4/16/09

Green Belt program
80 hours
Everyone talks about making better business decisions. Now, you can take action with a Green Belt, which helps you strengthen your organization by understanding, interpreting and using the core concepts of the Six Sigma™ process. Designed for professionals with little or no experience with Six Sigma™ methodologies, this 80-hour course helps develop critical skills required for successful project management.
The Green Belt course has been developed for those members of the organization who will lead self-directed work teams and will require advance training in the concepts of Lean Six Sigma™. The course will include training in the fundamentals of team facilitation and leadership. Participants will be required to complete one project and a comprehensive examination.

Lean/Six Sigma Practitioner

The Lean/Six Sigma™ Center of Excellence has established a Lean/Six Sigma™ Practitioner program. This program has been developed to address the overall training needs of an organization focusing on the individual contributors in the manufacturing and service industries, who have just started their training of Lean/Six Sigma™ concepts and tools.This program will validate the individual's knowledge of the practitioner's tools of continuous improvement.
