Coaching for Successful Results

Description
Prerequisite: Essentials of Leadership. 
Too many leaders can’t let go of the misguided concept that good coaches help their teams learn from mistakes.  They focus on improvement and correct performance after mistakes happen.  In today’s environment, organizations can’t afford trial and error; they need things to be done right the first time.   In this course, leaders learn a proven coaching process to ensure they identify coaching opportunities and proactively encourage involvement, and build commitment.  Instructional materials included.

Resolving Conflict

Description
Prerequisite: Essentials of Leadership. 
Conflict is a normal part of the communication process.  However, differences of opinion can quickly escalate into an out-and-out battle. In the workplace, it’s the leader’s role to recognize the signs of conflict and then to quickly choose the appropriate level of involvement to help resolve the issue.  This course teaches leaders how to recognize that a conflict is escalating and minimize damage by using the most appropriate resolution tactic—regardless of which stage a conflict is in, and encourage others to take responsibility for resolving workplace conflict.

Setting Performance Expectations

Leaders must help people see how their efforts contribute to the success— or failure—of the organization.  This course helps leaders drive performance and accountability by helping people understand what is expected of them and gaining their commitment to achieving it. Participants will also learn how to handle challenging situations that can arise while discussing expectations. When leaders effectively apply these strategies, people feel more motivated to perform well because they see how their efforts make a difference.  Instructional materials included.

To delegate or not to delegate...  Is it worth the risk?  Will it take more time than it is worth?  In this course, leaders overcome their hesitation for delegation by learning skills for successfully matching people, responsibility, and authority. This allows them to maximize involvement, productivity, motivation, and growth for individuals, groups, and the organization. Instructional materials included.
