Introduction to the Role of Fundraiser

Description
This seminar provides the building blocks of philanthropy.  These include: the reasons individuals and corporations give, the value of volunteers to an organization, basic donor prospecting and stewardship, the role of the fundraiser in an organization, and the basics on securing different types of gifts.  Attendees will develop a better vision of their role in securing funds for their organization and will take with them some basic tools to help motivate them forward with their fundraising career.

Organizational Effectiveness for Non-Profit Executives

Description
The Executive Director can take on many roles within the non-profit organization – from visionary to change agent to relationship builder.  This course will look at the important role the non-profit executive has in creating and implementing an organizational vision to met the goals of the non-profit organization, as well as strategies for evaluating organizational effectiveness .  Some of the topics covered include: 

  • What does organizational culture mean?
  • How does an Executive Director articulate and develop a shared organizational vision?
  • What are the new demands for accountability and measurable outcomes for the non-profit organization?
  • What is the Executive Director’s role, the Board of Trustees, staff and volunteers within the change process?
  • Ways to build an effective relationship between the Executive Director and the Board of Trustees.
  • Ways to build leadership and management skills to provide a healthy organizational culture among staff and volunteers.
  • Strategies for building a culture of respect through the development of strong lines of communication.
