Why choose St. Petersburg College’s eCampus?

A history of excellence

Founded in 1927, St. Petersburg College (SPC) has long been a national and international leader in higher education. When the advent of distance learning opened limitless new opportunities for students, SPC launched its eCampus program in the fall of 1990 with approximately 2,800 online students. Today, eCampus serves nearly 29,000 students each year--students from throughout the US, from many foreign countries, and from US military bases around the world.

The excellence of SPC’s eCampus program has led to statewide and national recognition. For four years in a row, SPC has been named Florida’s leader in distance learning among the state’s 28 community colleges. eCampus has been recognized as America's Outstanding Distance Education Program by the American Association of Community Colleges' Instructional Technology Council (ITC). The ITC has also named six eCampus instructors among the nation’s Outstanding Online Faculty.

All eCampus online courses meet the same high standards of instructional quality that govern SPC’s traditional classes. SPC is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of College and Schools to award associate and bachelor degrees.

A focus on students

At SPC, online learning is about far more than simply using Internet tools. SPC’s eCampus program includes a full spectrum of student services for online learners, from advising and tutoring to online library resources and career guidance.

eCampus is about people, not technology. The eCampus faculty and support staff recognize the unique needs and circumstances of online students, from at-home parents to individuals with full-time jobs, to members of the military and their spouses. The eCampus program is focused on helping students be successful in their online college work and meet their educational goals.

An affordable education

The per-credit-hour fee for eCampus classes is the same as for all other SPC classes, with an additional $12.50 per credit hour for lower division classes and $15.00 per credit hour for upper division classes. The cost of online courses at SPC is extremely competitive in relation to other online learning institutions. For complete cost information, see Tuition, fees and refunds.
