eCampus Testing

Placement tests

You may need to complete placement testing before you enroll in classes at SPC. The placement test is offered in a computerized format and given to students in small groups. It is not timed, but usually takes about two hours.

Placement testing is available on a walk-in basis during the day and by appointment in the evenings and Saturdays. You can take the test at any of several SPC locations. For more information about on-campus testing, call or visit the campus most convenient for you:

Clearwater Campus (727) 791-2491
St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus (727) 341-4637
Seminole Campus (727) 394-6234
SPC Downtown (727) 341-4249
Tarpon Spring Campus (727) 712-5761

If you live outside of Pinellas County, Florida, and cannot come to SPC for placement testing:

You can arrange to take your test elsewhere under the supervision of an approved proctor; that is, someone authorized by SPC to conduct the test. Just follow the step-by-step guidelines for off-site testing to make the necessary arrangements. If you need help with these arrangements or have questions about off-site testing, email the eCampus testing coordinator or call (727) 394-6047.

Course work tests

Some eCampus courses require supervised paper-and-pencil tests or supervised computer-based tests, as opposed to online tests that you take on your own.

All these tests are conducted locally at SPC's Seminole Campus (Campus Locator Map). Your course syllabus and/or your instructor will provide the information you need; if you have additional questions, contact Counseling & Advising for assistance.
