Tutoring

Tutoring Resources for Online Students


SPC’s eCampus offers tutoring for our distance education students via phone, email, and online. Enrolled students can choose from several types of tutoring services:

Online Tutoring Services

Smarthinking is an online tutoring service that St. Petersburg College is making available to its students effective Spring 2007. Tutoring is available up to 24/7.

With Smarthinking you can:
  • Connect With an e-structor and interact with a live tutor.
  • Submit your Writing for any class to their Online Writing Lab.
  • Submit a Question and receive a reply from a tutor.
Topics supported by Smarthinking include:
  • Business: Accounting, Economics, Finance
  • Mathematics: Basic Math Skills. Algebra, Geometry & Trigonometry, Calculus, Statistics
  • Spanish
  • Science: Biology, Introductory Human Anatomy & Physiology, Chemistry, Physics
  • Writing

To get started, login to the MySPC portal and click on the Online Tutoring link in the left column. From there you can set up your Smarthinking account so that you can begin receiving online help through this service.

Communications Tutoring Services

One-on-one tutoring is available via email for students enrolled in online reading and writing courses. Tutors are available to answer questions about course content; provide additional explanation of concepts presented in class; help students plan, organize and develop their writing assignments, and direct students to additional online resources for help with specific course topics.

Math Tutoring Services

Individualized tutoring in math is available via email or phone. To schedule a session, email math.cybertutor@spcollege.edu or call (727) 394-6984.
