Saturday, Nov. 21, 11 a.m.
Virginia Swanson ~ ‘Origins, History & Future of Crazy Quilting’
Discussion ranges from the early days of fabric production to the use of scraps left from garment production in quilting, plus a segment on the Victorian Crazy Quilt. Includes small trunk show.

Friday, Dec. 4, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Brenda Grampsas ~ Quilt Appraisals
Grampsas is certifed by the American Quilt Society and a member of the Professional Association of Appraisers – Quilted Texiles. $40 per written appraisal and $10 per verbal evaluation. Written appraisals will be mailed within a week of inspection unless extensive research is required.

Barbara Kellard & Bonnie Ward ~ ‘Kids & Quilts’
Just in time for the holidays, children can make a reading or travel pillow. Open to ages 5 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Nominal materials fee.

Marlene Glickman ~ ‘Mini Quilts in a Shoebox’
Glickman demonstrates fiber collage techniques, including surface design, design decisions, instant fabric coloring and fusing foil to fabric.

Saturday, Dec. 12, 11 a.m.
Pauline Salzman ~ ‘Perils of Pauline’
Share Salzman’s quilts from her beginnings to the present, including the trials, tribulations and joys of quilt-making.

Brenda Grampsas ~ ‘Quilts of the 1930s’
This trunk show includes quilts plus artifacts from this time period.

Saturday, Dec. 19, 11 a.m.
Marian Smith ~ ‘Impact of Quilts on the Civil War’
It was often up to civilian women to provide clothing and bedding for Civil War soldiers. The United States Sanitary Commission recorded a quarter million donated quilts for the Northern effort, and the Southern women raised money through quilt auctions.

Saturday, Jan. 9, 2 p.m.
JoEllen Smith ~ ‘Heirloom Creationswith New Technology’
Learn how computers and computerized sewing machines have changed quilting. Some of the topics include hardware and software, implementation and sources.

Museum Hours

Tuesday through Saturday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday: Noon - 5 p.m.; Last entry is at 4 p.m.

The museum is closed Mondays and Veteran's Day (Nov. 11), Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year’s Day.
