Visual Disabilities Education Bachelor's

Florida State University

Bachelor’s - Blended

The program in Visual Impairment at Florida State University prepares three types of professionals to work with individuals who are blind or who have low vision. These three types are:

  1. teachers to work with children with visual impairments
  2. rehabilitation teachers to work with adults with visual impairments
  3. orientation and mobility specialists who teach travel skills to people with visual impairments.

There is a critical shortage of professionals in all of these specializations throughout the United States, particularly in rural areas. This bachelor's degree program is designed to prepare graduates to help children and adults who are blind or who have low vision achieve their educational goals and prepare for their futures as contributing adults.
