Student Scholarships

Please adhere to the following guidelines in order to be considered for a scholarship award. This program is designated for students interested in the Healthcare Informatics Certificate and A.S. programs.

  1. Scholarship awards will cover the costs of tuition, associated fees and books for 6 credit hours.
    • Scholarship award amounts will depend on academic program selected on the following application.
    • Scholarship applicants must designate “Healthcare Informatics Certificate” or “Healthcare Informatics A.S.” when applying for scholarship consideration.

  2. Scholarship applicants must complete all admissions requirements and be admitted into the program in order to be considered for a scholarship award.
    • Please refer to the following checklist if applying to the Healthcare Informatics Associate in Science program.
    • Please refer to the following checklist if applying to the Healthcare Informatics Certificate program.

  3. The scholarship application deadline is Friday, August 8, 2008 at 5:00 pm EST. Items postmarked later will not be considered. Please do not send materials past this date.

  4. Incomplete scholarship applications will not be accepted.
    • Students are responsible for ensuring all application materials are submitted to include appropriate information, signatures, and requesting documentation.
    • Students WILL NOT be notified if an application is incomplete.

  5. Students will be notified via e-mail upon award.
    • Upon final selection from the scholarship committee, an e-mail with attached letter will be generated to the e-mail address on the scholarship application informing the scholarship recipient of award amounts and disbursement details.

  6. Scholarship funds are for tuition, associated fees and books only.
    • Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours during the Fall 2008 academic session.
    • Scholarship information for the 2009 calendar year will be available in August 2008.
    • Students should not order books in advance. The Healthcare Informatics team will order books for scholarship recipients.

  7. Students who do not meet minimum GPA requirements will no longer be eligible to receive scholarship funding.
    • Students who fail a course or receive a grade of “WF” will no longer be eligible for scholarship funding.

It is the student’s responsibility to disclose additional scholarship amounts or awards if receiving student loans.
