How do I add the Firepass as a trusted site in my
web browser?
If your browser is configured to block pop-ups. It will block
necessary console windows from launching.
You should add the FirePass controller web site to your list of sites
allowing pop-ups.
For Internet Explorer users on Windows XP Service Pack 2, you can manually
add the FirePass controller's web site to your list of sites allowing
pop-ups. To do this:
- Navigate to Tools->Internet
Options->Privacy.
- Click the Settings button under the Pop-up
Blocker section.
- Type the name of the FirePass controller's
web site and click the Add button.
- After adding the site to the list, click
Close and then Ok to apply the new settings.

The settings for the Firefox browser are
found under Tools->Options->Allowed Sites.
For other browser and third-party pop-up blockers, please refer to their
documentation on how to enable pop-ups for particular sites.
Connections require active firewall
software, active antivirus software, and a supported operating system with
current updates.
(See connection requirements below)
Why do I need a firewall and antivirus software on my
computer to access the new system?
Stations running without this software
have inadequate security. The system ensures that this weakness is
not extended to the SPC network, which could lead to information
breech and system compromise. Operating a computer without a
firewall is an "open door" to hackers, who could exploit the
weakness to gain access into SPC systems and
information.
There are many commercial and free
firewall software packages. We recommend Zonealarm
which has a video tutorial explaining its configuration
procedures.
SPC Antivirus software is distributed
from the Provost Office of each campus.
