Biography
I grew up on Long Island in New York. I graduated with a B.A. in English from Quinnipiac College (now University), located in Hamden, Connecticut. I earned an M.S. in Reading and Special Education from Dowling College on Long Island. After earning my Master's degree and NYS teaching certificate, I started working as a behavior analyst with children who have autism. My husband and I were both ready for a change, so in May of 2007 we headed south for Florida! I started my career with SPC as an adjunct at Seminole. I am now at the Tarpon Springs campus where I teach Reading Techniques and Basic Writing. While I will always be a New Yorker and an Islander at heart, I have come to love living in Florida. My interests include reading, health and fitness, cooking, eating delicious foods, traveling with my husband and dog, and the Tampa Bay Lightning (GO BOLTS!).
