Biography

As a first-generation college graduate, my philosophy of education as a participant and observer embraces the idea that everybody can learn. Students “bring to the table” a diversity of ideologies that inspire the need for higher education and conspire because personal situations can hinder the education process. The effort that is needed to be successful within an academic endeavor requires great personal and financial sacrifices. With this in mind, my philosophy of education embraces the need to build a solid academic environment; one that offers the opportunity to provide all students access to resources available in an effort to insure the completion of their academic degrees.

I graduated with my BA from University of South Florida within the disciplines of Psychology and Anthropology. I completed my M.A. in Adult Education and Leadership with a specialization in Reading Education at USF. On a personal note; I rescue, rehabilitate, and provide and find sanctuary for unwanted animals of all types. I have a menagerie of pets that include 2 dogs, 6 cats, chickens, ducks, a goose, a horse, and 2 pigs. I play soccer, rollerblade, and enjoy equestrian riding. My greatest accomplishment as a single parent is raising two great kids!

"Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love." - Martin Luther King, Jr
