Biography
As an experienced college instructor, I know the thrill of watching students find strengths and talents they never knew they posssessed. I have seen the fear in adults entering college for the first time after their own kids are grown, I have seen dual enrolled high school students strive for maturity in the college classroom, and I have encouraged displaced workers to reach for new goals. I believe college is exciting place to be and I work to instill that enthusiam in students.
In the classroom, I find that setting clear and fair expectations for all students builds confidence and mutual respect. I believe in being available for individual attention while expecting student accountability. Great college teaching encompasses the whole student experience. Learning should be fun!
When not in the classroom, I am a professional health writer and speaker. I love reading, boating, traveling, chocolate and laughing at myself playing Nintendo Wii games!
