Chip Neville
biography •
Chip Neville is a new media artist working in music, animation, video, installation, and performance. His work emphasizes local environmental issues and covers other topics ranging from humor to politics.
He has worked for over 25 years as a graphic designer and extensively as a digital illustrator with work in more than twenty internationally published award winning children’s books.
Musically Chip has written and performed music with the Tampa Bay Composer’s forum, performed as a guitarist and singer in musical ensembles, and toured with the Florida Orchestra. He has taught guitar lessons privately and through the USF Community Music Division.
As an artist he has exhibited work at film festivals and galleries across the country showing experimental video, photography, animation, and video installation combined with performance.
While active in the local music and arts community, Chip most recently has been working as a college instructor specializing in animation, digital audio, video production, visual theory, and new media for the Art Institute of Tampa, St. Petersburg College, International Academy of Design and Technology (Tampa), and the University of Tampa.

Prerequisite(s): Computer competency required. This course is designed to introduce tools for music and sound exploration in the areas of Web, video, animation and video games. Students will develop knowledge of basic digital audio concepts, audio processing principles, basic Musical Instrument Digital Instrument (MIDI) concepts, plus digital audio and MIDI processing and production as relates specifically to the field of multimedia. All areas of course content will be applied to practical applications through project-oriented assignments. 32 contact hours. |
