Elizabeth Indianos- Artist/Writer lizart1@mac.com www.elizabethindianos.com www.waitingforguacamole.com BFA University of Florida MFA University of South Florida Mobil Grant Exploration of New Materials NEA Grant/Florida Fine Arts Council Artist in Residence ARF Grant/Waiting for Guacamole 2008 Teaching: Painting, Drawing, Design, Illustration, Sculpture SELECTED PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS Early in her career she received a MOBIL CORPORATION GRANT for the exploration of new materials. Over the past twenty eight- years her diverse and varied work has developed in this same spirit of exploration through a variety of themes and a wide scope of materials and technology. Elizabeth has created large-scale projects in the public art arena. Many of these projects integrate writing components and unusual collaborative ventures. Projects include; Tampas Southern Transportation Plaza, Charlotte, North Carolinas Eastland Transit Center, Tampa International Airport, The Gainesville Solar Walk, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Libraries, and USFs Sarasota campus, outdoor mosaic, Classical Divide. Two projects received Planning Commission Awards of Excellence for projects that enhance the quality of life, exhibit long-term vision, innovation, design quality and environmental sensitivity. Additionally, she was one of the 5,000 design teams in the world to contribute a proposal for the World Trade Center Memorial. Elizabeth Indianos proposal is visible at the World Trade Center Memorial website. Her most recent work, Waiting for Guacamole, is a multidisciplinary work that interweaves theater, fineart, music and dance. The work is a semifinalist in NYCs Multistages Theater New Works Contest.
